Mother nature going through menopause?

Some tulips

It is finally starting to feel like spring. The sun is out, the birds are chirping and the flowers are actually starting to bloom. Yes, we’re finally seeing a little bit of color outside. Ahhh the tulips. Have you ever noticed how vibrant a tulips colors are? Its never just a red, or violet or purple or yellow, it’s a BRIGHT red, or bright yellow etc… Almost as if the flower was recently dipped in a jar of dye, and then lacquered to keep that color. Yes, its natures way of nudging us and telling us that spring is in the air.

Spring it may be, but the transition into this weather was something that seemed to be orchestrated and conducted in fits and starts. “Do I really want to be spring, hmmm no lets switch back to winter for 3 hours and have 3 hours of snow, and then 5 minutes later have bright sun shine and 60 degree weather.” Not to mention the hail I encountered walking home that same evening!!!

This started an interesting though train that started chugging though my brain building up speed as each seemingly loose string started to fall into place.

(Also called watching too much discovery channel) According to scientists the planet that we all occupy in this transitional phase of our life, Earth is somewhere around its halfway point in its lifespan, before like all living things it dies. Mother Earth or Mother Nature we affectionately call her. She who sustains all life on earth!

Like all women reaching middle age, is Mother Nature going though menopause? That period of middle age that makes all women prone to hot flashes, skin or in this case

surface changes, loss of control over its temperaments or in other words mood swings? That would indeed explain some of the more bizarre weather patterns we’ve been experiencing all over the world. Tsunami’s, Hurricanes, Land shifts and Earthquakes.

Following though on this same train of thought (still chugging along quite dedicatedly in the search for the truth, Yes it is out there… SOMEWHERE) how long will this phase of menopause last.

Since mother earth’s life span is so much more longer than ours, the stages of life it passes though is also considerably longer. Converted to human life spans are we talking a couple of generations, with it only getting worse each year until she reaches her peak and then subsides into a more docile, middle aged lady, who has lived live and has a lifetimes worth of experience to help her mould her second half of her lifespan.

For those of you who are right at this moment thinking “Screw you and your mother earth going though menopause theory” There is always the “THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD WE’RE TALKING ABOUT MAN!!!! NOT SOME MIDDLE AGED WOMANS PROBLEMS” theory.

Well what ever our beliefs, whether it be mother nature, the end of the world, or we brought it on ourselves with pollution, the greenhouse effect and damaging the ozone layer. The result is what we are facing right now and how we go forward and deal with it is what we need to address.

With that cheery though I’m going to sign off for today.

Cheers everyone, enjoy the coming spring.
