IKEA, I know people who have virtual orgasm’s at just hearing its name being said out loud. Yes I know I feel sorry for them as well. Ohh such a simple marketing strategy and ohh so successful.
The human mind is really very simple to manipulate. The mind can only capture so much. Anything more than that and it overloads. It overloads and goes into I really much have that, from ohh do I need that mode. IKEA rules where that is concerned.
Its always easier to made a justifiable decision when you have 5-6 choices. When you have 150 choices the mind becomes excited.. ohh no. what do I want.. this is nice, but this is also nice, and then this is also nice and has this funky gadget (which I really don’t need) but its cool so I might get this. Then there are those little accompaniments what goes with that piece. You really don’t need it BUT, since it goes with it you just HAVE to get it as well.

You have just gotten caught to the IKEA hook. Don’t feel bad. Everyone else does as well. EVEN THE MOST “Nah I don’t get caught to those marketing gimmick people” so take a deep breath and stop beating your self on the head. Sit back (hopefully on your new IKEA couch, put your feet up on your IKEA foot stool (one of those addition you just had to get because it went with your couch) and sip some hot chocolate from that new mug you also got from IKEA (Hey they were on sale, along with matching table coasters, cloth napkins, tea-coffee-sugar jar set, and cutlery set.) and enjoy.
