When will you learn that you just don’t cut it. Veteran umpire you maybe, but at the end of the day you can be a veteran and still suck at your job.
First you accused our best bowler Muttiah Muralitharan of using an illegal bowling action, even after the ICC cleared him in the Melbourne Test of 1995.. Then there was the whole fiasco of you ruling that Inzamam-ul-Haq had been run out by a throw from England bowler Stephen Harmison back to the wicket-keeper during the Faisalabad Test in November 2005.
Was that not enough drama in your life? What have you gone and done now. Accusing the Pakistani team of ball tampering. Chee chee. You should be ashamed of your self. Didn’t your mother teach you the virtues of being truthful?
Now with the whole cricket crazed nation up in arms with the backing and support of President Pervez Musharraf who has said that he has given his full support to the Pakistani cricket team, it is to be seen what will unfold at the upcoming ICC hearing which will be headed by ICC chief match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
Pakistan have blamed umpire Darrell Hair for being biased against teams from the Asian subcontinent and said they would not play in any games in which Hair was officiating.
“We are going to make it clear to the International Cricket Council that we are not going to play under the supervision of Hair in any future matches,” said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan.
It is my feeling that the ICC should recognize that Hair is not a team player and should be given the golden handshake and asked to retire from umpiring gracefully or forced to step down by the ICC. Which ever he prefers.
