After spending a torrential day fraught between the urge to switch to a 3 column layout for my blog and sticking with what I have, I’ve decided to stay with what I have right now with some modifications.
Here’s a list of things I’ve changed.
- Added the motif of a bull head to the header. Being a Taurus I felt this ever present graphic will remind me of my strong headedness, and other bullish qualities ?
- I moved my blog name/logo to the right hand side and added my blog description under it.
- Instead of listing the last few posts in the right column, I added it to a drop down, I think this keeps the whole right column a lot neater.
- Added a list showing the top 10 visiting countries and the number of visitors from each.
I have a whole list of further modifications that I’ll be adding to my blog. If there is anything that you would like to see let me know and I’ll see what I can do about adding it.
Till then,
Good Night
The Blog Description is still a tad bit unreadable, maybe a change in colour. Or may I’m blind. (Not wearing my glasses right now)
And the “White” for the headlines on the Side BAr. Did you want to contrast? If not you could use a lesser brighter colour, like the one you’ve used for “Sri Lanka”.
My 2 Cents, who doesnt have jack of an experience in creating themes. I think you’ve done an amazing job! Specially with the Drop Down.
Thanks machang, Yes, i wanted to change the color of the headlines on the side panel to make it stand out a bit more, but maybe the white is still a bit too harsh. I’ll look into changing it.
There is a known bug, when using IE, the font sizes for the entire site maybe too small. I’m trying to keep the side 100% css, so i’m using fluid font sizing. If your using IE, and the fonts on the site are way too small, you can make all the fonts bigger by going to View>Text Size>Increase or (Ctrl++)
I guess I should state in a read me that is side is more firefox ready than IE. If you need to get firefox there is a link to firefox with google toolbar on my right column. Please download it. Its free, and a hell of a better browser
Ever since i switched over a year ago i hardly use IE unless it does not load properly in Firefox.
Cheers.
