[Photography] – Through the eye of a lens
Nov 20th
I haven’t really done much in the photography space in a while. I must apologize to my readers. This blog has not been updated in a very long time. I got attacked by some pretty nasty viruses and it took me a while to get up and running again.
Its a relief to finally come to my blog and not see the google warning that my site was blocked for spreading viruses!!!
Long story short, I’m back and have a whole bunch of stuff in the pipeline for you’ll.
A little while ago I started experimenting with shooting through lenses, here’s one of my very first attempts at this. Here I am shooting thought the front of a Sigma lens to focus on some cork in the background.
What do you’ll think?

[Food] Grilled Salmon with mixed vegetables
May 29th

The plated dish
Here’s a really quick recipe to make a very easy, tasty and healthy dinner. All you need is a fillet of fish (I’ve used salmon here) some spices and a packet of frozen mixed vegetables from the super market.

[Photography] Spring Flowers in California
May 28th
I’ve said this before and I’ll probably say this many more times. I really do like Spring. Everything wakes up and starts blooming. The trees get a new breath of life and flowers start to peak out.
Here are some pictures I snapped a week or so ago.

Is it just me or do you also think of yellow as the perfect spring color.

Sunsets in San Francisco
Oct 25th
Northern California is by far considered a very pro green, nature friendly and every tree huggers delight. Nevertheless it still had a decent amount of pollution in the air. Part of the blame can be put on the constant fires we have as extended dry spells visit. San Francisco’s smog content is not however the main focus of this post. The presence of this smog does how create the settings for some spectacular sunsets, and these sunsets are the main focus of this post.
This picture has such a zen like state. I can’t help but stare at it. I took this picture at a park next to the beach in San Francisco. The rolling hills in the background really helps to bring everything together. I really love the sun’s reflection on the picnic bench.

[Video] War Photography – In Harms Way
Oct 24th
Photography has been a very strong passion of mine. But, why? There is a beauty in being able to capture an instance in life that in turn becomes part of history. Being able to capture not only a still of that instance but also the passion, the energy, the life that is packed into that instance is what all photographers strive to achieve.
To be able to make your photograph affect another person’s life is your ultimate goal. In effect letting them see and experience a part of what you have. Making them feel like they were right next to you when the picture was taken.
In this episode of “In harms Way“, we have a look at two war photographers who go into the Gaza strip and get a glimpse into what they experience.
This video is a great example of a war photographers life, I don’t necessarily agree with the ending of it and would have liked to see what pictures were finally used by the Israeli News media that purchased them and in what context, but nevertheless its a great insight into a conflict/war photographers life.
The video is linked after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Balancing stones and the sound of the ocean
Sep 17th
One thing that I absolutely love is the spending hours at the beach and listening to the sound of the ocean. To me that is the most calming sound in the world (other than the sound of the bell that tells me that the guy selling Bombai Mutai is coming – I really love that stuff).
Here’s some pictures of me trying to balance stones on each other at Russian Beach in Jenner, Northern California.
